I love nothing more than a good death photo....BUT the image is too blurred and grainy to have any kind of impact. Also the vignette effect on the edges is distracting. I think this one would have been better had you gotten lower and shot macro....really getting in there on those dead eyes.

Powerful, perceptive and very creative image. My guess is that you had to shoot this in dim light at high ISO and then bumped up the brightness, contrast and saturation in the computer. (A guess, mind you.) Death on the pavement, death bordered by verdant foliage, death of something many hold in contempt, harsh and forceful. Great work.

I think that we will all just have to wait and see what verdict that the coroner comes up with. Word on the street says that authorities believe that this bird may have been the victim of fowl play.

It could be so many things - a kid with a b-b gun, or perhaps struck by a vehicle then flew a ways away before dying. Pigeons can fly extremely fast. I saw one being chased by a hawk, and the pigeon slammed slammed into a fence at top speed and died.
